Weekly Missions Update

with BMM to Australia

Dear Prayer Partners,

Greetings from wintery Australia.

We have had some busy months: we've had the community outreach, the men’s breakfast at our house, the ladies’ brunch and secret sister break-up, a sewing day to make children’s skirts to go in the shoe boxes for Thailand (we packed 67 boxes at the brunch, and an International banquet.

I wish each of you could come down and meet our people. We have so many different nationalities and accents.

Did I tell you that I LOVE our house? It is so cosy and comfortable. We are enjoying using it for the Lord.

One major prayer request is for the financial strain faced by missionaries here. The Australian dollar has reached an 18 year high and is still advancing. In practical terms that means we have lost 13% of our monthly income in the last 9 months. The gas prices are rising weekly and a rise in lending rates is predicted for the end of the year. This presents a pretty bleak picture for the future so we are realizing more and more that we are truly living by faith. But God is able! We are doing OK but we do ask for wisdom in our spending and protection from unnecessary and unwanted expenses.

Keep looking up.

Don and Lola

Dear Praying Friends,

Thank you for your partnership in prayer for the BMM church-planting endeavors across our continent, and especially for our ministry as coordinator and coach. God is at work, and you are a part of it.

In response to your prayers, God has worked in a couple of projects. The Calvary Baptist Church of Aldergrove, BC closed the sale of their old property. They were able to realize enough from the transaction to pay off the new building and fund most of the needed remodeling and the group ended up debt free.

The new church plant in New England is moving forward and will soon have a pastor on site.

Please pray for us in the following ways:

That we would have wisdom to know the best way to be a help to each of our missionaries.

That God would provide new missionaries for church planting and ethnic ministries in NA That we would cooperate with God’s work in our lives to mold us into Christ’s likeness and make us more effective servants.

That God would give us more open doors with some new neighbors we are getting to know.

We praise God the privilege of serving in His harvest, but we would not be able to do so without you. Your sacrificial giving and faithful praying helps to keep the work of the Lord moving forward. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your missionary ministry.

Your servants and His,

Dan and Peggy Whitcher
